SafeHabitus and AGRO-WELL will be jointly organising an online policy seminar on “Reducing farm vehicle and machinery related accidents through new technologies” on 19th March 2026, 14.15 to 17.00 CET.

This Policy Seminar aims to foster exchange between European policymakers, researchers and key stakeholders on how new technologies, artificial intelligence and digitalisation can contribute to improving occupational safety and health (OSH) and working conditions in agriculture.

Farm vehicles and machinery remain one of the main causes of fatal workplace accidents in the agricultural sector across the EU. Against this background, the seminar will explore how technological solutions can help prevent accidents, reduce occupational risks and improve safety outcomes for farmers and farm workers.

The Policy Seminar will:
•    present concrete examples of technology integration in agriculture and their impact on working conditions and OSH;
•    explore practices, tools and preventive measures to reduce accidents related to farm machinery and vehicles;
•    facilitate exchange of knowledge and perspectives among agriculture and OSH stakeholders;
•    discuss the policy, research and funding measures needed to scale up and extend effective technological solutions across agricultural sectors and regions.

This Policy Seminar is part of SafeHabitus’ ongoing work to support evidence-based policymaking and to promote safer and healthier working conditions in EU agriculture.
